The 2nd Annual 'Pacific Polo Cup'

On August 16th, Nicola and I packed our picnic and headed to the Pacific Polo Cup at The Southlands Riding Club. This is the second year that the event has taken place, and I was so excited to see Polo return to Vancouver!

Escape to Skookumwhat?

A couple of weeks ago, I was lucky enough to score an invite to a friend's cabin on the Sunshine Coast. Skookumchuck Narrows, to be more precise.

A Spring Break Flashback.

I had an excellent year of travel. Although it was all work related, I felt very fortunate. In the Spring I accompanied forty something grade eights to Italy and Greece with some of my favourite colleagues. Although the trip was fast paced (as most school tours are), we did have our share of down time, allowing us to experience some wonderful moments (sans students).

Rainbow Bright.

The Pineapple Express sent an impressive amount of liquid sunshine to the Pacific Northwest this weekend. In twenty four hours, we had 80mm of rain.

Mrs Robinson(s)...

What a week. Back to work, and once again adjusting to a new sleep schedule after single handedly jet-lagging myself over the holidays. An amazing feat considering I never left Pacific Standard time.

A Holiday Review.

On a regular Friday, I would be counting down the last thirty minutes of work, anticipating the weekend ahead. Today (although I hate to admit), I've only been out of my apartment for thirty minutes, and out of bed for three hours. Extremely unproductive / lazy. Yes it's Friday, but I'm three days from the end of my holiday, and the dreaded 'Sunday Feeling' has officially set in.

In an effort to ignore the inevitable, I thought some 'snipits' from the last three weeks might be in order.

We spent Christmas up at the ranch, packed into the cabin with cousins, grannies, and 'plus-ones'. It was glorious. I made a Christmas wreath for the gate (thanks to my skills acquired earlier in the month from Nicola Adam), we went on walks through the snow, played Pitt until the cows came home (not really...we don't have cows), and had the best boxing day in the history of boxing days. Santa was also very kind.

New Year State of Mind...

I'm sitting here in my final week of Christmas holidays at a coffee shop on Main Street, surrounded by beards, wondering why nobody is at work? Seriously. In one week's time, when I'm back at it, will these characters be in their usual neighbourhood haunt trying to decide between a Glazed doughnut and a Traditional French Cruller? Jealous.
